Child Development Center (Ages 2 – Kindergarten)

The Child Development Center is a Ministry of First Baptist Church of Slidell, Louisiana.

Our Purpose:

To provide for each child a happy, loving Christian environment so he or she can grow Spiritually, Academically, Mentally, Physically, Emotionally and Socially.

Our Objectives:

To Help Each Child Grow in these Areas:  

Spiritually: To grow in knowledge and love of God, Jesus and the Bible.

Academically: To be successful in mastering the skills and goals required in age appropriate curriculum and activities.

Mentally: To think independently, to broaden his or her range of interest, and to develop language powers.

Physically: To establish desirable health habits, and to develop both gross and fine motor skills, and to know and follow simple rules of safety.

Emotionally: To recognize simple relations, adn to recognize desirable and non-desirable emotional reactions. 

Socially: To grow in ability to work and play with others, to develop an attitude of kindness and cooperation toward others, and to accept individual and social responsibilities in groups.

3 Year Classes:   A Beka Curriculum and Enrichment Activities 
4 Year Classes:   A Beka Curriculum and Enrichment Activities
Kindergarten:      A Beka Curriculum and Enrichment Activities

All CDC students participate in Chapel, Library, Music and Physical Development.

In addition to curriculum posted above, our students enjoy a variety of special visitors throughout the school year. In years’ past, we have had Johnette Downing, a puppeteer; a group from LPO; Science on the Geaux; our local Fire Dept. and Firefighters; and others. Our children also have the opportunity to participate in several themed dress days and other fun activities at our school.

Community – Thursday, February 8, 2024

Hours of Operation:

Monday 9am-12pm
Tuesday – Friday 9am-3pm
Before/After Care is offered on a limited basis.
Before Care:   Monday – Friday – 7:30am-9am (3year olds – Kindergarten)
After Care:      Monday – 12pm-3:30pm (3year olds – Kindergarten)
                          Tuesday – Friday – 3pm-3:30pm (3year olds – Kindergarten)
